SNIPPP needs FOSTER HOMES in Northeastern California's Modoc, Lassen, and Shasta counties! Our ability to rescue companion animals like the one you're viewing right now depends on us having safe, loving foster homes for them to go to. Can you give an animal in need a second chance by opening your heart and home?
Courtesy Listing - Please contact Golden Gate Basset Rescue for more information regarding Kiki!
Little Kiki may or may not have basset hounds in her lineage, but she is young, cute as a button and needed rescue, so, when the shelter presented her to Golden Gate Basset Rescue, how could they resist?
Kiki is around 2-3 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She has some hair loss from a flea allergy, which is now under control.
At 30 pounds, Kiki is the perfect size--not too big and not too small. Kiki is active and gets along well with other dogs and would really like a home where she has a doggie playmate, or ample opportunity to play with other dogs. Although she currently lives with a very dog-savvy cat that doesn't run from her, Kiki LOVES to chase cats, so is not really recommended for a home with cats.
Kiki is cautious around new people and particularly cautious around men and small children. Her ideal home would be with a woman, or women, children 13 years or older, if any, and an energetic doggie playmate. If that sounds like your home, Kiki is waiting to meet you!
PLEASE READ: Information regarding "Courtesy Listing" pets is provided by the individual who has the animal and is not guaranteed by SNIPPP to be accurate or complete. Verifying the health status and behavior of any pet found, adopted through, or listed on SNIPPP's Website or SNIPPP's listings on other sites is the sole responsibility of you as the adopting party, and by using this service, the adopting party releases SNIPPP from any and all liability arising out of or in any way connected with the adoption of a pet listed on the SNIPPP Website or Facebook Page.
Please note: if you are looking for a particular breed of dog, please be aware that most of our adoptable pets come to us as STRAYS, so we have no way of guaranteeing what breeds they are. When we state a particular breed or combination of breeds for an available dog, we are simply making our best educated guess based on the appearance of the animal and input from our veterinarians. If you must verify breed makeup, we will cooperate with you to do genetic testing at YOUR expense before you commit to an adoption.
SNIPPP prefers to have adoptive homes within the northern California counties of SHASTA, LASSEN, MODOC, SISKIYOU, TRINITY, TEHAMA, and HUMBOLDT to make it easier to do home checks and transport adopted animals to their new homes. Although we are willing to make exceptions, especially in cases of animals with special placement needs, the costs and arrangements for additional transportation outside this area may need to be handled by the adopting individual or family.
SNIPPP requires an adoption contract, a home check, veterinary references, and an adoption fee. All SNIPPP animals are spayed or neutered (unless they are not yet old enough, in which case adopters will be required to provide proof of spay/neuter at the appropriate time and will be entitled to a $75 refund of a deposit paid at the time of adoption). They are all up-to-date on vaccinations, have received appropriate veterinary care, and are micro-chipped. If they are dogs at least 6 months old, they have been tested for heartworm and are on preventative.
Some of the animals on our website are COURTESY LISTINGS. Different adoption requirements may apply for these animals, and they may not have received the same level of veterinary care; please ASK the person offering the animal for adoption any questions you have regarding vaccinations or health status. SNIPPP makes no warranties as to the validity of statements made regarding the personal characteristics of animals listed on a courtesy basis. Adopters are advised to consult with a veterinarian or animal behavior professional to confirm health or temperament characteristics of any animal considered for adoption.
Completing an Adoption Application does not guarantee that you will be able to adopt from SNIPPP; our primary concern is with finding the most appropriate homes for the animals in our care. Many of them have gone through rough times, and need an especially understanding person to help them realize their full potential. To complete an application, you will need to register on our website.
If you have applied and are approved as an adopter, we can arrange for you to meet individual pets you may be interested in at other times, too. SNIPPP PO Box 223 MCARTHUR, CA 96056
